Police in Migori County say they have recovered the genitals of a 31-year-old man, who was attacked and his manhood chopped off by unknown people on the night of April 13.
The shocking incident happened in Suna West Sub-County.
Migori County police boss, Joseph Nthenge, says Felix Otieno’s manhood was found in Sirare, Tanzania on Wednesday night by cops, who acted on a tip-off.
Mr Nthenge says the law enforcement agents were pursuing a suspect in the attack, who upon realising that he was being tracked down, dropped the genitals and escaped on foot. The suspect was carrying the organ in a polythene bag.
Mr Nthenge says the manhood has been taken to Migori Level Four Hospital.
The victim, Felix Otieno, is still hospitalised at the Kisii Level Five Hospital. Doctors say he is in a stable condition.
In a past interview, Mukuro Sub-Location assistant chief, Josephat Okinyi, said Mr Otieno was on his way home from a drinking joint in Masara trading centre, when unknown assailants attacked him and chopped off his manhood before disappearing with it.
The assistant chief said Mr Otieno was in the company of a friend, who managed to escape upon coming face-to-face with the attackers.
It remains unclear how the police ascertained that the retrieved genitals belong to Mr Otieno.
