Police in Busia County are investigating an incident in which a secondary school student sustained injuries on his manhood after he was allegedly assaulted by a cop attached to Siport post in Funyula Constituency.
The 19-year-old learner at St. Nicholas Hafumbre Secondary School in Ukwala, Siaya County was taken to Busia County Referral Hospital, where he is recuperating .
It is alleged the rogue cop confronted the boy when he was going to the shop to buy bar soap at 7:30pm Wednesday.
It remains unclear the supposed offense the teenager committed.
The victim’s mother, Jane Akinyi, who hails from Mukhwayo Village in Funyula, says a surgical operation has been performed on her son, and the doctors told her that it would take a significant time for the teenager to be able to engage in sexual activity.
The boy’s mother has urged Busia County police boss, Jacob Narengo, to expedite the investigations and have the suspect arraigned for assault.
The rogue police officer is yet to be arrested, with unconfirmed reports suggesting Siport officers fear apprehending the suspect, who residents claim has been terrorising them.
