The body of a secondary school student was found dumped on the roadside in Gatimu Village, Ol Jororok, Nyandarua County Friday morning.
The student had nail scratch injuries on the neck and other parts of the body. Police suspect she was murdered.
Confirming the incident, Nyandarua Sub-County Commissioner, Were Simiyu, said the student was headed home from a local church on Thursday evening in the company of her sister, when she met her death.
Her sister, who is the prime suspect in the killing, was arrested and taken to Ol Jororok Police Station as investigations continue.
The reason why the student was murdered is yet to be established.
Were said the police found, next to the student’s body, a Bible whose pages had been torn.
Were suspects the student was strangled to death as she had scratch marks on the neck, when her body was discovered Friday morning.
The student’s body was moved to Nyahururu District Hospital mortuary.
