Eldoret West OCPD, Samuel Mutunga, collapsed at 9am Tuesday while attending a security meeting in the County Police Commander’s office at Central Police Station.
According to police sources, who spoke in confidence, Mr Mutunga had indicated he was feeling unwell prior to the meeting that began at 8 am.
At around 9am, he complained of dizziness before collapsing.
Mr Mutunga’s colleagues rushed him to a private hospital in Eldoret, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Uasin Gishu County Police boss, Joseph Kine, confirmed the incident, but said the situation “was under control”.
“There is nothing to worry about because everything is under control. We managed to rush him to hospital in good time and so far the doctors have attended to him and is recuperating very well,” said Mr Kine.
