Drama ensued in Nyamira County Assembly after Ms Damaris Mouni, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) nominated MCA, discovered that her photograph had been pulled down from the county assembly ward.
Ms Mouni’s photograph is alleged to have been replaced with that of an individual who is not a member of the county assembly; one Irene Nyakerario.
Nyamira County Assembly Speaker, Moffat Teya has, however, directed the assembly’s clerk and the county’s ICT department to explain how Ms Nyakerario’s photograph found its way into the assembly’s website yet she is not a member.
Mr Teya gave the directive after Ms Mouni raised alarm on the floor after discovering that her photograph had been replaced with that of Ms Nyakerario on the website.
Ms Mouni’s photograph was later on re-uploaded back to the website.
The two – Ms Mouni and Ms Nyakerario – have been embroiled in court battles over who is the bonafide ODM party nominee in Nyamira County Assembly.
The case is currently at the Nyamira High Court and the ruling was set for July 19, 2018.
