There was drama at Lang’ata Police Station Wednesday morning when a policeman who resigned six months ago stripped in a bid to get reinstated.

The policeman had last year voluntarily left his job unceremoniously, saying he had been called to serve God in a ministerial capacity.

However, things seemingly did not go as he had planned. The ex-officer faced financial bottlenecks, prompting him to demand back his job.

When he had firmly made his decision, he stormed Lang’ata Police Post on Wednesday, July 20th took off his clothes, wore sacks and demanded that Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet listens to his case.

He was heard saying that he has been demanding back his job since December, 2015 but to no avail. He argues he has not been served with a dismissal letter, hence his resignation isn’t valid.

Sources within the post say the ex-cop is being held at the police station.

From inside the cells, he was heard singing gospel songs at the top of his voice, chanting how his maker will come to his rescue.

A large crowd gathered to watch the spectacle.
