Kenyan singer Akothee has said that it is true she was expectant but suffered miscarriage of her unborn twins while in Geneva, Switzerland on August 30, 2016.
The award-winning singer has debunked speculations by sections of fans that her pregnancy and miscarriage was nothing but a stunt to remain relevant.
Speaking on Citizen Television’s 10 Over 10 Show hosted by Joey Muthengi and Willis Raburu, on Friday, December 2, Akothee said she is a mother of five – and was supposed to be a mother of seven had she not lost her unborn twins; therefore, no one should speculate that her sixth pregnancy was a stunt, given she has proven that she is capable of getting pregnant.
“I have got two boys and three girls. So, why would I fake pregnancy? Do I look like I was barren such that if Akothee gets pregnant it is news? Don’t I have enough experience (to be a mother again and again)? Stop taking pain killers for my own head ache,” said Akothee.
The singer – who claims that getting pregnant is her hobby – said she is looking forward to getting pregnant again, and termed her miscarriage a “disappointment” to her.
The singer went ahead to introduce her two daughters (first born – Vesha Shailan Okello; and second born – Celine Dion Okello) to viewers on 10 Over 10 interview set.
The second born daughter, Celine Dion Okello, sat Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2016 at Kisumu Girls’ High School.
Akothee lost her twin pregnancy after collapsing at a train station in Geneva, Switzerland on August 30.
