Award-winning Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz, born Naseeb Abdul, has written a heartfelt message to his compatriot singer Ray C, born Rehema Chalamila, urging her to work hard and maintain a positive mindset if she wants to regain her lost glory in music.
Taking to his Instagram page on Wednesday, April 26, Diamond Platnumz said Ray C’s upbeat demeanor motivates him to soar into greater heights in his music career.
The Utanipenda hit-maker wrote: “How are you Ray C, my sister? I am impressed by your efforts to reclaim the stardom and position you once enjoyed in the music industry. I am motivated by your resolve. I believe others, too, find your determination to succeed very admirable. I pray you rise to greater heights. Art may be challenging, but I trust your drive. You passed an enormous challenge. I wish the media would support your work more than they even did in the past. May God bless you. May God bless the work of your hands.”
Ray C, a one time colossus of an artiste in the East African region, sank into oblivion when she plunged into drug abuse in 2012 after her then-boyfriend Lord Eyez allegedly introduced her to the practice.
Former Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete would, later, call for Ray C to be admitted to a rehabilitation centre, which was done.
On her way to recovery from drug addiction, Ray C lapsed but would later show resolve in her quest to reclaim good health.
She, now, says she has fully recovered and is in good shape.
Ray C is currently working on a new album slated for release at a later date.
