Celebrated Tanzanian singer Diamond Platinumz has paid tribute to the fallen Rhumba maestro Papa Wemba.
Through one of his social media accounts, the Nanahit-maker revealed that he was working on a project with the deceased.
“Just four weeks ago, we were in Paris, he featured me in his song and we planned a lot for the song and suddenly got the news….dah!” he wrote.
The father of one said that the legend will truly be missed by many.
“…still don’t want to believe that you are really gone Legend….We will always miss you.”
The 26- year-old musician also got to share a video via his Instagram page showing him and the late Papa Wemba at a recording studio working on a song.
Papa Wemba died on Sunday (24th April 2016) while he was on stage during a live concert in Abidjan Ivory Coast.
He will be remembered for his unique musical style and electric stage presence.
In his music career, Jules Shungu Wembadio Pene Kikumba (Papa Wemba) got to work with bands such as Zaiko Langa Langa and later Viva La Musica.
