A man and his wife were on Tuesday, May 30, rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital in critical condition after they beat each other to a pulp in Ngong, Kajiado County.
The couple, who went their separate ways three years ago, met on a street in Ngong, where an argument ensued before the ugly fight broke out.
When the fight was getting uglier, the man brandished a machete and began slashing his wife.
Passersby, who were infuriated by his action, landed kicks, blows on the man, seriously injuring him.
The two split three years ago over what their neighbours termed irreconcilable differences.
According to eyewitnesses, it is the woman who began engaging her husband, whom they are yet to officially break up with, in a scuffle when she met him on the streets.
The argument elicited fury in the man, who brandished a panga and cut his wife on several parts of the body, including her neck.
Police officers rushed to the scene, where they took the bloodied couple to Kenyatta National Hospital for emergency treatment.
Kajiado North OCPD, George Sedah, said the police will launch investigations into the matter once the couple is discharged from hospital.
