A police officer from Transmara West Sub-County in Narok County shot and killed his middle-aged lover during a domestic fight Wednesday night.
The incident happened at the officer’s Kibera Estate home in Kilgoris Town.
According to Transmara West police boss, David Wambua, the law enforcement officer shot his girlfriend in the neck after their disagreement turned physical.
Wambua says the police officer sustained stab wounds to his head during the fight.
The circumstances surrounding the fight remain unclear.
The police officer is fighting for his life at the Kisii Level Five Hospital, where he was rushed while in critical condition.
The woman’s body was moved to St. Joseph’s Mission Hospital mortuary in Narok County.
Wambua says investigations have been launched into the incident.
