Churchill Show comedian Emmanuel Makori Nyambane, popularly known by his stage name as AKA or Ayeiya, has died.
Ayeiya died Friday morning in a grisly road accident that occurred on Magadi Road as he was heading home in the company of his wife, comedian Paul wa Kimani and Olweny.
Ayeiya, who was asleep during the incident, died on the spot after a car they were driving in, a Toyota Premio, rammed into an electricity pole.
Langata OCPD Elijah Mwangi confirmed the incident, adding that his officers had provided security to the Churchill Show team that had recorded Thursday night at the Carnivore in Langata.
Mr Mwangi says one of the passengers was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital with serious injuries, whereas the whereabouts of the other passengers is yet to be known.
Comedian Churchill took to his official Twitter handle on Friday to confirm the heartbreaking news.
“We are waking up to very sad news of the passing of one of our comedians Emmanuel Makori (AKA). Our thoughts and prayers are with his family,” he wrote.
