Chaos in Jamhuri following singer Jaguar’s defeat in Jubilee Starehe polls

Chaos erupted at Jamhuri High School in Nairobi on Thursday, April 27, after musician Jaguar’s supporters stormed the tallying center demanding the singer be declared Starehe MP Jubilee Party ticket winner.

This comes after the incumbent Maina Kamanda floored the Kigeugeu star in the party primaries.

Kamanda amassed 10, 384 votes compared to Jaguar’s 8, 300 votes.

Earlier reports, which were unconfirmed and had circulated on social media, claimed Jaguar, born Charles Njagua Kanyi, was ahead of the incumbent legislator, and was likely to be the next Jubilee Party candidate for Starehe MP.
