Celebrated singer Bahati ‘rescues’ Eastlando

Award-winning gospel singer, Bahati, has put up a new investment – a music studio – which he says is inspired by his experience growing up in abject poverty in Nairobi’s Eastlands area.

Bahati, intimating the life of hardship, struggle and loss of hope he went through, says the studio will serve the youth who have musical talent, but have no financial power to materialize their creations.

“With the little that God has blessed me with, I opted to start a music studio that will help me mentor and support artists and talents from different parts of this County (Nairobi),” wrote the singer.

He added: “I know many are artists with a dream of getting the best quality musically/artistically but are not in a position to pay these great producers just like my case was.”

The Mama hitmaker says he settled on Eastlands area of Nairobi because it is more affected by poverty and hardship.

“It has been in my heart that I should mentor and help artists who tomorrow will change the history of where I come from – the ghetto… the Eastlands.”

Revealing his dream, he continued: “It’s my desire that when we talk of Eastlands some years to come poverty should not be the first image on our minds; but instead talent, innovations, empowerment and where stars are born.”

Bahati adds the studio fee will be fair to both established and upcoming artistes who will record with the stable and says the services will be very professional.

“I might not be in a position to help everyone, but I’ll be here to make sure this production house gives every artist the best quality with professionalism no matter you’re an uprising artist or established; with reasonable studio fees to help everyone achieve their goals and dreams,” he noted.

Bahati in the same post also thanked Producer RKay for standing by him, and according him the support he needed to debut in the music industry back in 2013 when he was budding.

He said: “Just know am forever grateful coz since that day my life has not been same again.”

Bahati has labeled his new acquisition Eastlands Most Beloved (EMB) Records.
