Jamaican star Busy Signal will be coming to Kenya July 28. The award-winning and internationally acclaimed musician will be performing in the upcoming Free Up Peace concert in Nairobi, which is slated to take place at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre.
“I’m gonna be live performing in Kenya with my band,” Busy Signal has said.
“It will be a celebration of greatness, the 33rd Anniversary of Shashamane. I’m just awaiting just to be there to represent for Kenya,” Busy Signal added.
According to the organizer of the show Papa Bingi, the members of Busy Signal’s band will be arriving in Kenyan on July 24 while Busy himself will follow on July 26.
Bingi has also said that the security at the concert has been taken into great consideration and that the fans are in for lots of entertainment and a secure concert.
“The security will be beefed up just like Romain Virgo show last year. Busy Signal is a very good entertainer and he is ready to rock the Kenyan audience plus I’m also trying to promote our own homegrown reggae artist and they will be able to showcase their talent.”
Reiterating Busy Signal’s earlier allusion of the Shashamane Anniversary, Bingi said, “This will also be Shashamane International 33rd Anniversary in the business plus we are trying to educate the youths to be peaceful during and after the election and that is why the show is Dubbed Free Up Reggae Concert.”
Shashamane International celebrates the reggae sound and has seen to the rise of reggae music in Africa and beyond.
Busy Signal is best known for hits like Black, Selfie and Comfort Zone. His reggae rendition for One More Night owhich was originally sang by Phil Collins was well-loved by his fans.
Nigerian artiste Wizkid will also be performing at the same venue on July 22nd. That week is going too be a busy one for concert-lovers.
