Anne Kiguta reveals her biggest challenge

Citizen Television news anchor Anne Kiguta has revealed that the biggest personal challenge that she has ever had is forgiving her wrongdoers.

“I think forgiveness has always been a big challenge. It’s looking at what a person has done, facing the full wrath of the pain and then choosing to say ‘I forgive that. I’m done with that, I will move past this and not build a temple to my pain and I won’t hold it against you.’ That’s tough to genuinely do,” Ms Kiguta – May, 2016 Drum Magazine’s cover girl – candidly told the publication.

“I’m currently having to forgive a few people for things I know they probably will never apologise for, leave alone stop doing,” she added.

Kiguta says she is forced to maintain essential contact with those who hurt her – and leave the rest to God.

“I have learnt to love some people from a distance. Pray for them, wish them well from a distance, and leave God room to deal with them.”

Anne Kiguta divulges she prefers to watch movies with her six-year-old daughter, ‘Mims’ Wairimu when she is not anchoring news on Citizen Television on Thursdays and Sundays.

Ms Kiguta cries when she is watching a “corny, mushy” scene in a movie.

“I do cry at movies. You know the corny, mushy scene. Even Mims. She is like: ‘Mom, I feel like crying. Aki they are coming,’ and I am like: ‘Don’t, just hold.’ Am corny during movies… when the puppy runs and jumps at the owner, am dead. I deal with hard stuff each day so this is something that I’m yet to understand,” Anne said.

Mims soon will be an elder sibling to Kiguta’s second born.

And her first reaction when she realised she was expectant with baby number two, Ms Kiguta said: “It was ‘huh?’ Then laughed and cried all at once. It was completely overwhelming. Nothing really describes the feeling that comes over you when you find out you have one of the greatest miracles happening inside you. I still feel that way sometimes… It’s still overwhelming that God has designed me as a bridge between worlds,” Kiguta told Drum.
