Celebrated American gospel musician and preacher Donnie McClurkin is in Kenya.
Mr McCkurkin arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 10:45am on Friday, ahead of his concert at Two Rivers Mall on Saturday, December 15.
The event, which will be streamed live on Kenya’s leading online content app Viusasa, begins at 4pm.
Mr McClurkin took to Twitter Friday to announce his arrival in the country.
He said: “A day and a half ago, I was in an accident that almost took my life… Today, I’m in Kenya … Sunday I’ll be in PFC … Praising God for His miraculous power of life over death! Thank you, everyone for praying for me… Thank you! The prayers of the righteous!”
The award-winning artiste’s Kenyan visit comes after he escaped with minor injuries following a road accident on Tuesday, December 12.
Mr McClurkin said his car veered off the road after he “passed out while driving”, resulting in the crash.
Taking to his official Facebook page, Mr McClurkin said: I was [involved] in a serious accident at 12:50am this morning [Tuesday, December 12]… I passed out while driving on the highway. Totaled the car… Hospitalised, going through a myriad of tests… But I’m alive!
“I lost consciousness driving… but two human angels followed my swerving car with their emergency blinkers onto stop traffic… drove behind me until my car crashed into the middle concrete island. I remember none of it except those two angels pulling me out of the passenger’s side of the crumbled Totaled car… Airbags deployed… crushed metal and Fiberglas!
“I am alive! Somewhat mangled, stitches on left thumb, sprained wrist, hurt knee, but I’m still here! God and two angels saved my life! I owe them…,” said Mr McClurkin.
