It is Mothers’ Day, and social media is flooded with pictures and touching tribute to mums.
Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba has joined the band wagon, posting a touching message for his wife, Priscah.
Namwamba, who has previously gushed about the feelings that he has for his wife on social media, posted the lyrics of Dolly Parton’s Eagle When She Flies in his tribute.
The song, which is the title track of Parton’s 1991album, praises the resilience of a woman.
Gentle as the sweet magnolia
Strong as steel, her faith and pride
She’s an everlasting shoulder
She’s the leaning post of life
Well, Priscah was impressed.
She replied: “OMG!!!! This is so lovely dear. You complete my motherhood, thanks for blending the right amount of friendship with the right amount of companionship to create a beautiful potion called our marriage. You are the best husband and dad. I can never get enough of this. Thanks boo boo!”
Later, she also posted a thank you note to her mother-in-law.
“Let me take this opportunity to thank God for your mama…who is my mum in law for bringing you to this world for me,” she posted.
The post attracted lots of comments from Facebook, with many praising the duo’s love.
“Thank you all for your messages…am so touched and humbled,” Priscah said.
Ababu Namwamba is arguably one of Kenya’s most romantic legislators, and he has been openly affectionate towards his wife.
