Nairobi Woman Representative Rachel Shebesh on Wednesday afternoon sensationally claimed that her political opponents, whom she did not identify by names, have “hatched a plan to make sure that she will be declared winner in the race for Nairobi Woman Rep when she is in a coffin”.
Speaking after casting her vote at Mahiga Primary School in Roysambu, Shebesh claimed that the assassination plot was drawn on Tuesday, April 25 – a day to Jubilee primaries in Nairobi County.
Saying, “I am protected by God and my husband,” Shebesh dared her political opponents to proceed with the plans.
“Yesterday (Tuesday, April 25), my opponents had made arrangements to ensure I am declared winner of the Jubilee race for Woman Rep in a coffin. I do not know the genesis of the hatred by these women. Instead of resorting to such ploys against me, the women should ask, in a nice way, to be voted in. I have told them severally to sell their manifesto so that they can triumph in the Jubilee primaries. I warned them, more than often, against selling an anti-Shebesh agenda. Shebesh is sure of her votes; they (votes) cannot elude her,” Shebesh said.
“The woman, who said that Shebesh would have signed her own death warrant if she emerges victorious in the race for Nairobi Jubilee Woman Rep ticket, I dare her to go ahead with her plans. I know where she met and planned my assassination. I am protected by God.
“When they realised that I was going to win the Jubilee Party primaries, they vowed that the victory would be my death warrant. Let them listen to me clearly: I have enough human security around me, including my husband. I am also protected by God.” she added.
Shebesh, in a bid to protect her votes from being rigged, she claims to have stationed her own agents across all polling stations in Nairobi County.
“I have my own tallying center; I have a secretariat that comprises agents in all polling stations in Nairobi County. The first thing I did this morning is to ensure that all my agents stationed at different polling stations are ready for the day,” she said.
Shebesh faced off with Jubilee Party Woman Rep aspirants in Nairobi including Millicent Omanga, Karen Nyamu.
