Police in Bureti, Kericho County have arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of having sexual intercourse with a minor.
Roret residents, on Saturday, February 24, nabbed the suspect in the act with the minor at lodging facility at Roret trading centre.
The girl studies at a secondary school in the neighbouring Getarwet location.
Roret location chief Richard Ng’eno said the couple was nabbed in the act following a tip-off from boda boda operators and Nyumba Kumi officers.
Ng’eno said the student, who was heading home for mid-term break, met her lover in Roret trading centre, before booking a room in one of the guest houses. The girl was still dressed in school uniform.
Ng’eno said they found the two in the act after storming the room, which they had booked themselves into.
The couple was frog-marched to Roret Police Post, where they are being held.
The man will be arraigned once investigations into the incident are concluded.
