A 28-year-old man from Paw Nyuka Village in Lower Kakrao sub location in Migori County has committed suicide after his two wives refused to allow him entry into their houses.
The two houses are located in the same compound.
George Otieno Okongo, who works as a bodaboda operater in Migori, returned home Thursday night only to find his wives had locked their houses; and efforts to persuade either of them to allow him access into the house bore no fruits.
According to Okongo’s uncle, Naphtali Atin, the now-deceased went away to a then-unknown destination, when it became imminent that none of his wives was going to open the door for him.
Atin says on Friday morning (September 15), a teacher, who was heading to school, saw Okongo’s body hanging from a tree a few meters from his (Okongo) compound.
Confirming the incident, Lower Kakrao sub location Chief Gorety Duya said Okongo had, in the past, reported to her that he and his two wives were undergoing marital problems.
