Police in Eldoret are looking for a 28-year-old man, who allegedly killed his estranged wife after she returned to her matrimonial home while expectant.
David Amukoa, a resident of Kahoya area in Eldoret, allegedly strangled to death his three months pregnant wife, Esther Achieng, on Friday morning (February 23).
The couple, who were blessed with two children, separated in late 2017 after irreconcilable differences hit their union.
When Ms Achieng, 27, returned to her matrimonial mid this week, her husband was shocked to see her tiny baby bump. Upon inquiring who impregnated her, a fight would ensue between them.
On Friday morning, Mr Amukoa revisited the pregnancy issue, and just like previous confrontations, a fight ensued between them, when Ms Achieng allegedly insisted she was not going to make that information known to her husband.
It is then that Mr Amukoa allegedly strangled Ms Achieng to death.
He, thereafter, left a written note, saying he had killed Ms Achieng because “there was no way he was going to live with the reality that another man slept with; and impregnated his wife”.
“His note further said he was not ready to raise another man’s child,” Eldoret West OCPD Richard Ombongi said while confirming the incident.
Ms Achieng’s body was moved to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
