Fourteen people are recuperating at Embu Level 5 Hospital after they sustained serious injuries following a road accident that occurred along the Embu-Meru Highway Tuesday night.
Confirming the incident, Embu North OCPD James Karisa told Citizen Digital that the accident involved a 14-seater matatu and a lorry which were moving in the same direction.
Mr Karisa said the 7:30pm accident occurred when a speeding matatu rammed into the back of the lorry before losing control and plunging into a river near Kiangima village, 13 kilometers from Embu Town.
The Embu North police boss has urged motorists to be vigilant when driving along the area that is now a blackspot.
