Thirteen students from Moi University main campus in Eldoret went missing two years ago and their whereabouts is still unknown.
It is suspected that the 13 have joined terrorist group Al-Shabaab.
Uasin Gishu County Commissioner (CC) Abdi Hassan confirmed to eDaily the disappearance of the 13, saying the police will continue searching for the missing students.
Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has said he is working closely with the varsity’s administration to ensure security is beefed up in the institution – and is hopeful that the search for the 13 will yield results.
Governor Mandago urged athletes training at a stadium in the university to cooperate with the security when seeking access to the facility.
