Kenyan amusement park rivals reputable foreign theme parks

Exciting times are ahead in the Kenyan tourism sector as what is poised to be arguably one of the most exciting destinations nears launch.

Identity Kenya Mining, owned by city millionaire Joe Kariuki, has embarked on an ambitious project that will see tourists; both local and international, enjoy a unique experience in an amusement park:‘The Restless Natives’.

According to Kariuki, the park represents next level value addition where rare artifacts are produced locally and tourists are invited to have a magical experience of Kenya’s rich resources of land, gems, wildlife, and highly skilled artisans and designers.

“As we believe in the workmanship and creativity of our Kenyan artisans and designers we have ensured that Identity Kenya Mining follows the gemstones to the end-user, who in return will have a unique piece of art with precious stones that can be handed down through generations,” he says.

So, exactly how exciting is this?

The 100-acre mining site situated in Mwatate area of Taita Taveta will be transformed into a living and working amusement park where tourists will have the opportunity to try their hand at mining. A tourist will literally get the chance to be an artisan miner.

“Let’s think beyond our limits and use our Kenyan Identity as creative thinkers to boost our economy,” says the CEO.

It is a rare opportunity to meet local artisan designers with designs based on generations of handed over traditional craftsmanship that demonstrates Kenya’s rich cultural heritage.

What’s more?

Dive in to the magical world of gemstones. Learn about the geology behind them while you standing at the very spot they came from!

Also in the shade under the scorching sun, Restless Natives café from July, comes with a promise of enjoying exotic and natural foods, while you gaze over the raw and wild landscape of the mining site. The spot is well visited by rare wildlife and famous red Tsavo elephants that wander in the bush land.

After the GEM Drive, visitors who want to bring home something unique and special from Kenya will have gems to choose from.

“We offer high quality gemstones, unique designs of artifacts crafted through the unique handwork of our special designers. Should you desire them to create your special design, we are ready to be creative with you to make it happen,” Kariuki adds.

So, if you had just had enough of the mountain climbing, bird watching and all cliché holiday options, I guess you have something to look forward to.

Well, let’s wait and see if it lives up to expectations.
